                             Houston 2009 Aution a Big Success
 
    We just had a wonderful and exciting KOA convention in Houston TX. The KOA Owners Association auction for Care Camps was a great success. Preliminary results were approx $63,000.00 plus the $11,288 from Peter Warick of Southeast Publications.  Thanks to all who donated items to this wonderful and exciting event.   Special thanks to our guests from Camp Rainbow Connection for your words  and for sharing your DVD about the camp with us.
     At the auction we presented our first annual “I Care” awards to our first three recipients. They were Mr. Oscar Tang, the Bell Family and Mr. Peter Warick. We will be adding a Care Camps wall of Fame to this website to display our “ I Care “ award recipients.
    Another guest we had was Howard Livingston , he is a VIP camper and loves Care Camps. Howard and the 24 Mile Marker band play many island songs and travel quite a lot. He offers his trademarked turquoise cap for a $100 donation to Care Camps. Check out his website at www.milemarker24

About KOA Owners Association Care Camps Program

Care Camps is a non-profit charity of the KOA Owners Association that helps send kids with cancer to special camps where they can enjoy camping and recreation experiences, but more importantly, it allows them to feel “normal,” like other kids, for a week a year.  We have 501 (c) 3 status with the IRS.
