About KOA Care Camps
The joy and memories of summer camp for children with cancer
“We wouldn’t be able to provide our life-changing programs without the partnership of friends like you.”
Linda M. Griffith Bozeman, MT
KOA Care Camps is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (or the corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue Law.)
No KOA Kampground benefits from this program. A love of camping is what is shared.
Only children who have cancer, or are in remission, and their siblings may apply. The child’s personal physician makes a determination of wellness to attend camp. Your donation allows this camping experience to be free of charge, an opportunity gratefully accepted by parents who are accustomed to being inundated with medical expenses.
The generosity of donors keeps the Care Camps program going….. and growing. Each year the Trust tries to add one or two more camps to the list of those that they help.
Every contribution to Care Camps is sincerely appreciated. Donations can be made in honor or in memory of loved ones, and all donations will be acknowledged.
KOA Care Camps currently support 38 children’s cancer camps in the United States and Canada:
Even though nearly all staff members at these camps volunteer their time and services, expenses are still quite substantial. Thousands of meals are served, and there are costs for items such as drugs, medical equipment, utilities, phones, insurance, gasoline, postage, linens and transportation.
