1985 W Big Beaver, Ste. 200 Troy, MI 48084
Jay L. Cooke has served a central part of the KOA family for over a year. Mr. Cooke serves as a member of the committee and a general counsel for the association. He is the owner of the Onalaska/Lake Livingston KOA located approximately 100 miles north of Houston, Texas. Mr. Cooke purchased the park approximately 9 years ago, after it had fallen into complete disrepair. The park had been formerly operated as a KOA but had been run seriously into the ground. With his business acumen and passion for aiding children, he was able to renovate the space. Upon purchasing it, he transformed the park into a beautiful resort. Because of this hard work poured into the space, Mr. Cooke is currently the proud holder of the coveted KOA “Founders” and “President’s Club” awards!
In addition to owning the resort Jay is a long time practicing attorney of real estate in Troy, Michigan and operates other real estate entities throughout the United States and Virgin Islands. He attended Ferris State College, and graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor’s of Science. He then moved on to Detroit College of Law and graduated in 1974 with his J.D. He began serving as a lawyer in Michigan in 1975 and in Colorado since 1985. He has been licensed for over forty two years. He currently serves as the Principal at CRG Investment Properties. Mr. Cooke transfers his passion for real estate into aiding in the legal affairs of the KOA Campground. He has a passion for children with boys of his own. He prides himself on his successful alliance with KOA over the years, and hopes to achieve more in the years to come with them. He’s enjoyed this past year and a half on the KOA Committee along the relationships he has developed, such as his connection to the treasurer of KOA, Carlene Morris.
