Southeast Publications Continues Long History of Support

With another $33,000 raised during its spring conference in New Orleans, Southeast Publications has now donated more than $630,000 plus in kind to KOA Care Camps since 1994.

The funding support for the camps came from Southeast Publications sales associates attending their 2015 National Awards and Training Conference (NATC)  in April and CEO Wally Warrick, who matched the associates’ charitable efforts, the company said.

“While Southeast Publications’ legacy has been the industry leader in producing the millions of guest guides each year for RV properties across the nation, our company is honored to support KOA Care Camps again,” Warrick said in a statement. “It was great that CEO of KOA (Kampgrounds of America Inc.) Jim Rogers attended 7 of our NATC to witness the passion and commitment our sales associates have for this incredible program.”

In his speeches to Southeast Publications sales associates, Rogers discussed the growing RV/camping industry and thanked the associates for their support of camping, calling them the “chamber of commerce” for campgrounds in North America. Rogers also thanked Southeast Publications and its sales force for being one of the top contributors to the KOA Care Camps program.

Warrick’s father, Peter Warrick, founded Southeast in 1986. It has become an industry leader in printing guest guides for RV properties in the U.S. It also produces the MobileRVing.com website. In 1994, he chose KOA Care Camps to be the primary focus of the company’s charitable giving. In 2009, Peter Warrick was named to the KOA Care Camps Wall of Fame. He died in 2010. Wally Warrick has continued the tradition of supporting KOA Care Camps.

Carlene Morris, vice president of Southeast Publications, was appointed to the KOA Care Camps board of directors in 2012, replacing her husband, who passed away that year.

In 2012, Southeast Publications, which is headquartered in Plantation, FL., made the single largest donation in company history to KOA Care Camps, presenting a check for $66,343 at KOA’s annual convention in Orlando, FL.
